What is DIMO?
Pronounced "Dee-Moe"
DIMO makes every vehicle a programmable, session-aware device, accessible via API.
Ok. But what does that mean?
It means that mechanics, dealerships, insurance companies, rental platforms, fleet operators, AI agents, and any other business can connect to your car and (1) track things like fuel, location, distance, and speed; (2) send messages and commands like "unlock the doors"; (3) provision digital keys and identity; and (4) even settle payments for charging, tolls, parking - directly through the vehicle's session.
And, most importantly, these businesses can only access the car when the driver opts-in. It's like how your smartphone always lets you choose if you want to share your location, photos, and microphone with the apps that you download. DIMO always puts you in control.
So why should anyone care?
Owning a car, or operating a fleet of them, can be so much more than what it is today. What if checking out a rental were as seamless as unlocking your phone? What if your insurance premium dropped 50% because it's driven by real data, not zip codes? What if an AI mechanic knew your car inside and out? What if a fleet operator could provision keys, data, and payments for any vehicle from any manufacturer in one API call?
That future is being built on DIMO right now. And the drivers make it possible.
How do I use DIMO as a driver?
Connect your car and you're part of the network. You'll see your vehicle data (trips, fuel, battery health, diagnostics), earn rewards and access a growing ecosystem of apps that make owning your vehicle more enjoyable, affordable, and insightful. You control who gets access to your car and its data, always.
As the network grows, so does what's possible. Better insurance, smarter maintenance, seamless rentals, all powered by the data and access you choose to share.
