shortTermFuelTrim1
Represents the air/fuel mixture that the vehicle used during engine operation
High-Level Explanation
Similar to longTermFuelTrim1, but this signal represents the value used every time the vehicle adjusts the pulse width for the fuel injection. That is, the vehicle is monitoring the exhaust and adjusting the fuel/air mixture in real-time, and this signal contains the record of changes to the fuel trim as it is changed.
Negative values of this signal represent that the vehicle's computer determined a lean fuel mixture is necessary (i.e. decreasing the amount of fuel in the fuel/air mixture that is used for engine operation)
Positive values of this signal represent that the vehicle's computer determined a rich fuel mixture is necessary (i.e. increase the amount of fuel in the fuel/air mixture that is used for engine operation)
This value should generally be between -10% and +10% for appropriately working engines.
