How DIMO works?

There are over 1.4 billion vehicles around the world today. While you have a smartphone and smart devices in your life, vehicles are still dumb in many ways.

With phones we went from landline, to flip phone, to Blackberry, to iPhone. Cars today are as smart and connected as landlines or flip phones. DIMO is here to usher in that smart phone "there's an app for that" era for mobility.

The DIMO Network enables vehicles to be part of a network where users have ownership over their vehicle data (as an asset) and have the ability to earn rewards when sharing that data with a service provider. As a developer with great ideas, you're coming in as either a data provider or a data consumer on the DIMO Network.

1. Be an data provider:

   • Build a hardware similar to the R1 LTE or Macaron

   • Integrate with OEM platforms and provide vehicle data to the DIMO Network

2. Be a data consumer:

   • Building a mobile or web app that customizes the full DIMO login experience with vehicle permission sharing, similar to the DIMO Mobile App

   • Building a mobile or web app that utilizes a "Login with DIMO / Connect with DIMO" component to get users sharing their vehicle permissions and subscribe to your service

Think of DIMO as the data infrastructure layer and the App Store for vehicles, you can now unlock superpowers of the entire automotive industry and not just doors for a single car.
