Developer Classification

Building on DIMO offers several paths, simplified here into two main routes: Data Providers and Data Consumers. Within the two respective routes, you can choose to be any of the following: hardware manufacturer, integrated data provider, web app builder, and mobile app builder. Each route provides a unique entry point to the DIMO ecosystem, connecting you to our network of consumers and vehicles.

Data Provider Route

Hardware Manufacturer

End Result

Launch your DIMO-connected product and utilize the DIMO marketing and distribution network.

Integrated Data Provider

Being an integrated data provider means you are providing data to the DIMO protocol. This can be managing an integration with a vehicle manufacturer (OEM) and sending vehicle data into the DIMO Network. Optionally, you can take vehicle data from existing integrations before feeding generated data insights into the network.

End Result

Application developers will consume the integrated data you provide.

Data Consumer Route

Web App Builder

Build a web application that provide services to DIMO users. This can be a web service or an extension of your physical business targeted at fleet owners or for individuals.

End Result

Launch your app and access the network of DIMO users.

Mobile App Builder

Build a mobile app that provide services to DIMO users. This is typically building an app for individuals using their mobile devices where your app will also be published on the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.

End Result

Launch your app and access the network of DIMO users.

Being a hardware manufacturer that utilizes the DIMO protocol is pretty straightforward, you will follow to develop and manufacture your device.
